The Kansas Jayhawks round out non-conference play in Reno against Nevada football tonight. These are three quick thoughts we gathered about the Wolf Pack.

The Kansas football team has lived up to their lofty expectations through the first two games of the football season. A blowout victory against Missouri State and an impressive Friday night win over Illinois propelled the Jayhawks to get their first AP Poll votes of the season.

Star quarterback Jalon Daniels and running back Devin Neal have led the explosive Kansas offense to new heights. The man who deserves who good portion of the credit, though, is head coach Lance Leipold.

After years of misery for Kansas football fans, Leipold has made the program respectable once again. He led KU to its first bowl game appearance since 2008 in just his second year at the helm. Leipold is quickly approaching the ranks of former KU coach Mark Mangino.

Tonight at 9:30 p.m. CT, Kansas will finish its non-conference schedule by traveling to Reno to play Nevada. They are 0-2 on the season but will look to snap a long losing streak tonight.
