Kansas Football Key Player No. 4: Daniel Hishaw Jr.

Hishaw has been held back by injuries and unfavorable situations, but the time has come for the redshirt junior running back to have his breakout season. He is coming off the best game of his career vs. Illinois in which he amassed 98 rushing yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

He and Devin Neal complement each other perfectly in the Kansas backfield, but we might be seeing more Hishaw than Neal tonight. Neal was hobbling on the sidelines for much of last week’s game against Illinois, and although he was able to see half of the snap count, there is no reason to test his limits against a lesser-touted opponent.

This week, I’m expecting a career game from Hishaw. I think he’ll be KU’s lead back and will receive upwards of 20 touches.
