Kansas Football Prediction No. 4: Kansas scores 60+ points for the first time since 2007

This is probably the boldest prediction of them all. Any statistic associated with the 2007 Kansas football season is likely an excellent one. But with how hot the offense has been playing, I don’t think it is out of the question for the Jayhawks to drop 60 or more points.

The last time this occurred was during KU’s 76-39 thrashing of Nebraska, which saw 17 different scoring drives across four quarters. Brandon McAnderson and Dezmon Briscoe combined to score seven touchdowns in one of the most memorable performances in program history.

While I’m not expecting anything similar to that, a final score along the lines of 62-7 is plausible. The Nevada defense gave up 66 points to USC. Jalon Daniels might not be as good as Caleb Williams yet, but he certainly has the same big-play ability.

Even if Kansas does not reach the 60-point plateau, I’d put money on them scoring more than 50. Nevada’s team is historically bad, and I can’t envision a scenario that their defense can stop the Jayhawks.
