We dove into what we think will be the depth chart for the Kansas basketball team this season.

The Kansas Jayhawks are the projected preseason No. 1 team in college basketball. In a hectic offseason that saw nine players from last year’s roster depart to the transfer portal or NBA, head coach Bill Self still managed to put together one of his most talented squads in quite some time.

Nearly all publications have this team ranked the best in the nation, and for good reason. A transfer class highlighted by former Michigan superstar Hunter Dickinson and three returning starters from 2022-23 have put Kansas in good position to make a deep postseason run.

Despite losing in the Round of 32 to Arkansas this past season, the Jayhawks are just a year removed from winning a national championship. They will look to win two titles in three years, which has not been done since Villanova did in 2016 and 2018.

A year ago, the program put down a self-imposed scholarship limit as a result of the incoming NCAA sanctions. Kansas will go into the season with just 11 scholarship players, and one is expected to redshirt. The team is very top-heavy, so we decided to explore what the depth chart for Kansas basketball might be in the opening game.
