RB Daniel Hishaw Jr.

An early fumble sent Hishaw to the bench vs. Missouri State. All three running backs on the depth chart received more carries than him in Week 1. But as long as he can take care of the ball, Hishaw should easily outnumber the touches of Dylan McDuffie and Sevion Morrison combined this week.

Injuries have plagued his career at Kansas, but his talent is undeniable. He balances out Devin Neal’s running style as a more powerful back but is also extremely elusive at 220 pounds.

I expect him to be a significant factor in KU’s run game against Illinois. Offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki will have to pull some creative plays out of his bag of tricks when the Jayhawks O-line takes on preseason All-American defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton.
