Kansas football had a successful Week 1 showing, but who should the Jayhawks coaching staff utilize more against Illinois?

Dozens of players made their way onto the field in the season-opening 48-17 victory for the Kansas Jayhawks. The second and third teamers were even able to make an appearance in what was a manageable debut against an FCS school.

This week, playing time won’t be as easy to come by for the backups. Kansas football will need to employ its best players on the field at all times when the Jayhawks take on Illinois, a team that boasted one of the best defenses at the FBS level in 2022.

The usual starters will receive their fair share of snaps, but the coaching staff must be wary of who to put out on the gridiron this time around. Therefore, we compiled a quick list of players who should see an expanded role vs. Illinois.

These three Kansas football players showed promise against Missouri State and should see more snaps tonight.
