West Virginia Mountaineers — 38-15 Loss at Penn State

The Mountaineers faced by far the toughest opening week opponent of any team in the Big 12, as the Nittany Lions are one of the favorites to win the Big Ten. It was a very clean game from both teams, with just six total penalties and no turnovers, but West Virginia was simply outmatched against a very talented Penn State team. Drew Allar was the star of the show, passing for 325 yards and three touchdowns, while Garrett Greene had just 162 yards and no touchdowns (although he did have 71 yards and a score on the ground). CJ Donaldson and Devin Carter led the way for the Mountaineer offense, with 84 and 90 yards respectively.

They host Duquesne next Saturday in what should be a get-right game for the Mountaineers.
