Kansas football: Grades, game balls from Jayhawks win over Missouri State
Grading the Offense
It’s hard to look too deep into this game for the remaining outlook of the season, but putting up nearly 50 points with your backup quarterback under center is pretty impressive.
With over 500 yards amassed through passing and rushing, there was no specific area that Kansas football struggled in during its Week 1 contest. The O-line was creating gaps, and running backs were breaking tackles.
Daniel Hishaw Jr.’s fumble was a hiccup that might have affected the team had they not been playing an FCS school. There were no other turnovers besides one on downs, but we’ll chalk it up to experimenting against an inferior opponent. If Jalon Daniels returns next week and the offense plays this well again, the grade will likely be bumped up a notch.
