Kansas basketball held official visits for a trio of 5-star recruits this weekend. Check out some pictures from their trips to Lawrence.

It was a big recruiting weekend for Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks, who are looking for the second pledge of the 2024 class after top-ranked center Flory Bidunga committed in mid-August.

5-star combo guard Jalil Bethea and Montverde Academy teammates Derik Queen and Liam McNeeley took a trip to Lawrence from Friday to Sunday for official visits. All three are top-15 players in the 2024 class and have serious interest in Kansas basketball.

Bethea is viewed as the No. 1 priority for Bill Self and his coaching staff. He can score at all three levels and has one of the smoothest offensive games you will find in a high school senior. McNeeley is not far behind, as he is a wing player who can shoot it from outside and handle the ball like a point forward. Queen would be more of a questionable add, as he’d have to fight off Bidunga for playing time next season.

In a picture on his visit, Bethea can be seen with his parents holding Kansas’ 2022 National Championship trophy.

McNeeley’s pictures have more of a playful spin on them, as he holds up the ‘call me’ signal in one photo and a basketball rim in the other.

Pictures from Queen’s visit have not surfaced, but he posted proof of him at the airport on Instagram.

The program awaits visits from several other players in the Class of 2024 this month and in October.

All of these players look terrific in Jayhawk crimson and blue. The only thing to do now is wait and see where they decide to play college ball.
