Kansas football: 6 quick takeaways from the Jayhawks victory vs. Missouri State

4. Tackling will be the primary concern defensively

I love Cobee Bryant, and he shut me up later in the game when he caught an interception, but his tackling tendencies can be extremely frustrating. That goes for practically every Jayhawk on the field last night. Players were attempting shoulder tackles every possession and letting players slip by their hands.

After that Missouri State ball carrier hurdled the KU defender, I thought to myself, ‘Man, what are we doing?’ There is so much talent on the defensive end of the ball, but overzealous decisions lead to silly mistakes. Although everybody wants to be the man who creates the big play, that side of the ball has far too much to prove to make errors like that.
