QB Jason Bean

Look away, Kansas football fans: KU insider Bryson Stricker suggested yesterday that Jalon Daniels could miss the season opener due to his lingering back injury. And we should be thanking the heavens that Jason Bean decided to not leave the program on a sour note, because things would have been looking bad if he had.

We don’t need to explain to you why a team’s quarterback needs to step up, but it especially applies when your starter is absent. Even if he is active in the contest, the chances of Daniels conducting more than one or two drives are little to none. Bean must play a smart game, and hopefully, he can also be effective with his legs.
