DT Devin Phillips

A transfer from Colorado State, Phillips figures to be the keystone of the inside linemen group for Kansas football. Both D-tackle starters from last year graduated, so he will have to take over the leadership role fairly quickly.

Lonnie Phelps came into last year’s season opener against Tennessee Tech and put the Jayhawk fanbase on notice, recording seven total tackles and three sacks. As a defensive tackle, Phillips is likely unable to even post a stat line as ridiculous as Lonnie’s was, but his presence could be felt equally if he can close running gaps.
