2. Not being overzealous defensively

With Kansas being the heavy favorites today, the defense is bound to become eager to make the big play of the night. While forcing turnovers would be great, DC Brian Borland cannot allow his group to stray away from their typical game plan against Missouri State.

This includes defensive backs not jumping on balls too early or defensive linemen becoming too excited and losing position when rushing the passer. Everyone wants to be the star of the show, but given how poorly KU’s defense performed last season, they shouldn’t have the liberty yet to make the occasional bad play or two.
