No. 1: Jalon Daniels’ injury

This has, of course, been a massive storyline around the KU football team ever since he went down with back tightness in fall camp. Jayhawk fans will be monitoring his injury situation and his snap count, which could be limited against a measly opponent like Missouri State.

Backup Jason Bean will likely receive the majority of the work once Kansas builds a strong enough lead, but Daniels was listed as the Week 1 starter on KU’s recently released depth chart. We will see him in action during the season opener, though to what capacity remains to be seen.

Daniels is not quite yet at 100%, but if he appears to be anything near it, there should be no reason for concern for the upcoming game against Illinois.
