We compiled a quick list of storylines for Kansas football fans to watch out for during this Friday’s season opener vs. Missouri State.

The wait is almost over — Kansas Jayhawks football begins in less than 72 hours. After reaching a bowl game and starting the season off 5-0 for the first time in over a decade, third-year head coach Lance Leipold has hefty expectations for his group in 2023.

With the second-most returning production in the country, including 91% of the offense, KU is in line for yet another successful season. While concerns about the defense persist, their elite offense should be able to keep them close in most games.

The Kansas football season begins at 7:00 p.m. CT against FCS school Missouri State this Friday, Sept. 1. All of the Jayhawk faithful should be tracking these five storylines when they tune into the outing.
