Bold Prediction No. 1: Lance Leipold wins Big 12 Coach of the Year

Lance Leipold could become the second Kansas head coach to ever win the award if his Jayhawks exceed expectations. A win total of 8 or 9 would give him a genuine opportunity to do so.

There likely won’t be another TCU-type situation where a team unexpectedly goes undefeated in the regular season. Practically every school in the conference could beat one another on any given day, even top teams like Texas. If Leipold continues to put the KU football program on the map, I would argue that this prediction is hardly even bold.
