Believe it or not, September is right around the corner, and that means the start to the Kansas basketball season is inching closer and closer.

For 39 years, the Kansas hoops season has been kicked off with the annual Late Night in the Phog celebration – although it’s been called different names throughout the years – and this year is no different

KU announced today that this year’s event will take place Friday, Oct. 6, inside Allen Fieldhouse.

The event will be headlined by four-time Grammy nominee and 42-time platinum selling hip-hop artist Flo Rida. Some of his hit songs include “Low,” “My House,” “Good Feeling,” and “Wild Ones.” He’s sold over 80 million records to date, making him one of the best-selling musical artists of all time.

Keeping up with tradition, both the KU men’s and women’s basketball teams will put on some type of entertaining performance, and then each team will hold a brief scrimmage.

Late Night continues to be a free event for students, fans, donors, and alumni; however, all attendees will need to reserve tickets online in advance – as was required last year.

Details on how to secure tickets, when they will become available, and other information about this year’s event can be found on kuathletics.com.
