We predicted each Week 1 starting spot on the Kansas football offensive line.

Running the ball is a major component of the Kansas Jayhawks offense. The team returns the sole 1,000-yard rusher in the Big 12 from 2022 in Devin Neal and also boasts players such as Daniel Hishaw Jr. and Dylan McDuffie. Pair that with a tandem of quarterbacks that are some of the fastest players on the team, and you’ve got yourself an exceptional ground game.

But no matter how good the skill positions are, every solid run game begins with the offensive line. KU’s offensive line is among the best in the conference, even after losing now-Dallas Cowboy Earl Bostick Jr. to the NFL. Pass protection and creating run gaps will be focal points for the Jayhawks.

Aside from a few players, though, no one is an absolute lock to start game one for Kansas. Head coach Lance Leipold brought in a transfer class that includes Cal transfer Spencer Lovell and former 5-star recruit Logan Brown. A multitude of offensive line combinations could be assembled, but these are the five most likely scenarios for KU’s opening day on Sept. 1 against Missouri State.
