Predicting order of finish for each Big 12 football team in 2023 season

2. Kansas State

Dealing with the losses of Deuce Vaughn and Felix Anudike-Uzomah will be challenging, but they made a splash in the transfer portal by addressing defensive back and running back gaps. They also have one of the best offensive lines in the conference.

Meanwhile, quarterback Will Howard’s much-anticipated senior year should be a fun one. Although he has never played a full season at the college level, he was one of the best Big 12 signal callers in 2022 when active. If he plays like he did in the second half of last year, expect the Wildcats to be in the conversation to repeat as champs.

Chris Klieman’s group might not be the second-most talented team in the conference statistically, but the only games I see them not favored in are at Texas and Texas Tech. Although I’m a Kansas football fan, I’ll give Kansas State the benefit of the doubt, because it’s hard to downsize what they did last season.
