Game 10 vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

A matchup with Texas Tech in David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium is next for Kansas football. The Jayhawks traveled to Lubbock last season without Jalon Daniels and lost 28-43. Texas Tech had gone through a bit of a tough stretch the last few years before going 8-5 (5-4) with a win over Ole Miss in the Texas Bowl.

Joey Maguire has really turned around the Texas Tech program in his two short years at the helm. The Red Raiders lose 1st round NFL draft pick Tyree Wilson but return starting QB Tyler Shough and a lot of other pieces on defense. Maguire plays a hurry-up style of offense similar to what Josh Huepel runs at Tennessee, and it is an extremely effective offense that allows very little time for the defense to use substitutions.

Kansas didn’t have the depth last year on defense to keep up with what Texas Tech was doing on offense and it lead to them getting torched frequently. I think Kansas has more depth on defense this year, but I think the Red Raider offense will still be too much to handle in this game.

My Prediction:

Texas Tech wins 34-24 over Kansas

Kansas Football Record: 6-4
