We made game-by-game predictions for each of the 12 Kansas football regular season contests this season.

The Kansas Jayhawks are coming off the team’s most successful season in quite some time, as they made a bowl game for the first time in nearly 15 years. It was Lance Leipold’s second season at the helm, and the season started off with a bang, starting 5-0 for the first time since 2009 while hosting College GameDay for the first time ever.

There are hefty expectations for Kansas football for the first time in a long while, so it will be interesting to see how the team deals with the expectations of winning. Kansas returns all but one starter on the offense, which was one of the better offenses in the Big 12.

The Jayhawks’ defense will return 8 of 11 starters but will lose a key piece in Lonnie Phelps on the defensive line. The Jayhawks did add Dylan Brooks, Gage Keys, Austin Booker, Patrick Joyner, Damarius McGhee, Devin Phillips, and JB Brown to help supplement the defense. We know it was pretty bad last year, and it will need to take a massive leap forward if the Jayhawks want to improve on their 2022 season record.

The Jayhawks’ special teams were also not the team’s strength in 2022. Leipold has made a bevy of changes to improve the unit. He added Damon Greaves, an Australian punter, Seth Keller, a transfer kicker from Texas State, and Charlie Weinrich, a transfer kicker from Nebraska. Sean Snyder was also added to the fold to look over the special teams unit as a whole.

Let’s cut to the chase and predict each game on the schedule this year for Kansas football.
