Safeties

Returning Players:

Kenny Logan Jr.
OJ Burroughs
Jalen Dye
Marvin Grant
Andrew Russell

Newcomers:

Akili Hubbard (JUCO)

As expected, the safeties will be guided by fifth-year senior Kenny Logan. He is the face of the Kansas football defense and can do it all on the field. Logan is coming off consecutive seasons with more than 100 total tackles.

OJ Burroughs is an underrated player at free safety, starting each of KU’s games last year and recording a pair of interceptions. We could also see some of the players listed as cornerbacks switching over to safety in certain formations.

This group does not have much depth, but the hope is that the returning players will build on their 2022 seasons. With Logan guiding this unit, they could have an above-average season.
