Kansas football: 5 things we have learned from Jayhawks fall camp
3. Injuries could once again be the downfall of Kansas football
Look away, Kansas fans: Jalon Daniels’ status for Week 1 is up in the air. He said he’s ‘pretty confident’ that the injury won’t keep him off the field in the opener, but that doesn’t make me feel any better considering he hasn’t practiced for a week.
The season hasn’t even started, and we’re discussing whether our supposed savior will suit up! To make matters worse, star defensive back Cobee Bryant was seen in a walking boot this week. KU’s second-best cornerback, Mello Dotson, was also limited in practice.
Although injuries are bound to happen in football, I didn’t expect so many question marks this early on. The Kansas football season crumbled after Daniels went down with a shoulder injury in 2022, and the team could go down the same path this year if these ailments continue to pile up.
