Jalil Bethea

The Jayhawks will now turn their immediate attention to Jalil Bethea, who will be taking his official visit to Kansas basketball beginning Aug. 31. Bethea is a 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard from Warminster, Pennsylvania — just outside the Philadelphia area.

Bethea is rated as a 5-star recruit and the No. 13 player in the country according to 247 Sports Composite rankings. Aside from Bidunga, Bethea has been the primary guy KU’s staff has been pursuing the most. He is someone who can score the ball at all three levels and has a very smooth jump shot, although he doesn’t possess elite athleticism.

He has really exploded on the national scene this summer by dominating during the AAU circuit events, especially Peach Jam. Having a scoring guard alongside Dajuan Harris and potentially Elmarko Jackson and/or Arterio Morris in 2024-25 would make for a stacked Kansas roster.
