3. Brandon Rush (2005-2008)

Kansas basketball career 3-point shooting stats: 205-471, 43.5%, 1.9 3PM

Brandon was certainly in a Rush to establish himself as one of KU’s best 3-point shooters as a freshman, shooting 47.2% with 50 makes. He continued as his career treaded along, following that season up with percentages of 43.1% and 41.9%, respectively.

There haven’t been many Jayhawks who could step up and shoot a three as well as Rush could. His fluid jump shot motion had fans confident he would hit every single triple he attempted.

A vital piece to the 2008 team that won Bill Self his first national championship, Rush’s forte was from long-range. While he wasn’t the most prolific shooter statistically, those KU teams had so much offensive production that it’s hard to measure it through metrics. I firmly believe Rush could have been hitting 100 threes per season if he was the leading scorer on a team.
