LB JB Brown

The Jayhawks’ linebacker core is among the best in the country, but Brown could establish himself as a vital part of it as the season progresses. A transfer from Bowling Green, he had 52 tackles, three forced fumbles, and 1.5 sacks as a senior in 2022.

While Rich Miller and Craig Young will be utilized as more open-field tacklers, Brown will be tasked with improving the run defense — something Kansas must improve significantly. He provides a high level of experience and leadership and has the exact play style that the Kansas football defense needs.

Brown is one of many players expected to bolster the defense this season. He has high expectations, as coaches have raved about him during the first few days of fall camp.
