Big 12 football: Ranking each of the conference’s starting quarterbacks
By Kyle Jones
No. 6: Tyler Shough – Texas Tech
Shough has shown flashes of being a high-level quarterback on many different occasions. He has thrown for 200 or more yards 10 times in his 18 games as a starter. However, he has dealt with injuries throughout his two years at Texas Tech, including a broken collarbone that ended his 2021 season after just four games. He also hurt his left shoulder in the season opener last season, which caused him to miss about two months of action.
In his final four games of the season, he averaged 332 total yards and led the Red Raiders to four wins. If he can manage to stay healthy for a full season, he could be a dark horse All-Big 12 candidate.
