Kansas basketball: Top 5 remaining must-have 2024 recruits for the Jayhawks

4. Patrick Ngongba II

No. 27 ranked recruit in C/O 2024, No. 4 ranked C

Ngongba is the first of three big men on the list. He’s rated a bit lower than the next two players, but he’d still be a terrific addition to the Kansas basketball roster.

His footwork and shot-blocking ability is surprisingly impressive for his age. A near 7-footer from Virginia, he included Kansas in his top 8, along with K-State, UConn, Indiana, Providence, Duke, Kentucky, and Michigan.

Kansas needs a paint presence for the 2024-25 season when Parker Braun graduates, especially if Dickinson leaves the program. Ngongba has a skill set similar to that of Ernest Udeh Jr., who was supposed to be the center of the future for Kansas. Now, Coach Self needs to fill that gap, and Ngongba would be a great player to seal it with.
