3. Furphy could be a multi-year investment

This would normally seem like a conspicuous claim under normal circumstances, but with the new age of the transfer portal, nobody knows what to expect from kids nowadays. I firmly believe Furphy will last more than one season in Lawrence despite his NBA potential.

Considering he was initially going to be a freshman in the 2024-25 season, there’s no reason why he wouldn’t be comfortable staying at Kansas for more than one season now that he moved back a year. He committed to Kansas to bolster his chances of making the next level, and the coaching staff has surely made him aware that he won’t have the biggest role on the team. By the time the clock turns to his sophomore year, Furphy has the potential to be a starter and an All-Big 12 caliber talent.
