2. Bill Self continues to wow the KU fanbase

Overcoming fellow blue blood schools such as Duke and UNC for an international prospect — let alone having him reclassify — is a feat by Bill Self that should not be ignored. He convinced a potential NBA prospect to come to Kansas early, less than a month before the Jayhawks became interested in him.

Coach Self continues to prove to us why he is the best head coach in college basketball. After his health scare that forced him to miss the Big 12/NCAA Tournament, he has come back hungrier than ever in the transfer portal and the recruiting trail.

Although Furphy isn’t as significant of an addition as Hunter Dickinson, Arterio Morris, or other Jayhawk newcomers, it’s yet another masterclass from the Hall of Famer.
