1. Depth is no longer a concern

Prior to Furphy’s commitment, Parker Braun was the only projected bench player standing above 6-foot-4. This team is still going to rely heavily on its starting five, but Furphy adds another dimension of depth for the Jayhawks.

The guard room is stacked, but there were no backups for forwards Kevin McCullar or KJ Adams. Kansas now has a full second unit if they want to give all five starters a rest at one point. Although forward depth was lacking after Adams decommitted, that is no longer the case.
