4. The offense can’t just run through Dickinson

This isn’t a knock on Dickinson or his game. He will be in All-American conversations and a candidate to win Big 12 Player of the Year. The point I’m attempting to make here is that he can’t be the only player who is attracting attention from the defense.

As we all know, basketball is a team game, and everyone will need to contribute points to the scoreboard. Dickinson’s excellent playmaking for a big man will enable other players to find open shots when he encounters double teams.

On some nights, other guys will have to step up offensively, and that is fine. If anything, it’s better if others show that they can take control every once in a while. Dickinson can’t be the only focal point of the offense, or this team will end up like Purdue and Zach Edey last year.
