The Kansas basketball team landed in Puerto Rico yesterday. These are five thoughts about KU’s currently constructed roster before their first exhibition game.

The Kansas Jayhawks are venturing on their first offseason trip since 2017 when they played exhibition games in Italy. Now, the consensus preseason No. 1 team has headed to Puerto Rico for their long-awaited excursion, and they’ll wait to play the Puerto Rico Select Team tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. CT.

It’s been a hectic offseason for Hall of Fame head coach Bill Self’s squad. Two high school commits abruptly abandoned the program, leaving KU with just ten scholarship players for the upcoming season — nine of them being active if they decide not to pull Zach Clemence’s redshirt.

Not many Kansas teams in the past have had this much turnover. Many fans are skeptical about some aspects of the team, so I figured I’d offer my two cents on the roster.
