Will he make the final roster?

Even though he won’t play much, Azubuike has a good shot to make the final roster. Phoenix only has 12 guaranteed roster spots as of Aug. 1, 2023, and NBA teams are allowed to carry up to 15 (with a minimum of 14).

Saben Lee is Phoenix’s only other two-way player on contract. Teams can have up to three two-ways. Two-way players are able to alternate between the NBA and the G-League. They are allowed to compete in a maximum of 50 NBA games per season. Azubuike will have to compete with Lee, Jordan Goodwin, and Ish Wainwright for the last spot. At the very worst, Azubuike will be called up to the pros for a few games when a player sits out due to injury.
