Where does former Kansas basketball star Udoka Azubuike fit in with the Phoenix Suns?

The Suns made an offseason splash by trading for Bradley Beal this summer. Fellow superstars Devin Booker and Kevin Durant will look to guide first-year head coach Frank Vogel to his second NBA Finals ring.

Azubuike might have had a better chance to see the floor if center Deandre Ayton had not re-signed to a 4-year, $133 million contract. Playing time will be scarce for the native of Nigeria if the Suns decide to keep him on board.

In short, Azubuike’s situation does not look too good. Newcomers Bol Bol, Drew Eubanks, and Chimezie Metu have all had far more success at the NBA level and offer more versatile skill sets. Even seeing minutes at the end of a blowout could be difficult for the 2019-20 Big 12 Player of the Year.
