Kansas football

Football is the money maker for the NCAA, an aspect that once made Kansas much less attractive than some other schools. Even as a blue blood in basketball, some conferences would have preferred to stay away from a football program with as many issues as KU’s had. Thankfully, head coach Lance Leipold has taken the team to unprecedented heights, and the Jayhawks are no longer at the bottom of the barrel in the Power 5.

If Kansas football can continue to stay afloat, it will bode well for them when they look for a new conference. They are no longer just a single-sport school. The Big Ten has several low-end football teams at the end of its conference, so the Jayhawks could remain competitive in the conference.

No conference will bring Kansas University aboard for their success on the gridiron. That being said, it helps that they are at least respectable now.
