Quarterbacks

Returning Players:

Jalon Daniels
Jason Bean
Ben Easters

Newcomers:

Mikey Pauley (Nebraska)

With how injury-prone Jalon Daniels is, returning Jason Bean was some of the biggest news that Kansas football could get this offseason. Even so, having a guy like Daniels quarterbacking your offense gives you a chance to win just about any game. He can beat you on the run, in the pocket, or with his legs. In the Jayhawks’ RPO-style offense, there is no one better to operate it. Assuming Daniels can stay healthy, we could see Bean in trick plays or special formations in addition to playing under center. He’s far too dynamic of a player to let rot on the bench. Someone with his speed and agility could probably play special teams or wide receiver. Ethan Vasko’s transfer does thin the depth of this unit, so the future could be troubling in the absence of Daniels and Bean. Easters should get some reps against Missouri State, and PWO Mikey Pauley from Nebraska was an underrated addition a few months back.
