Key No. 5: Limiting turnovers

This could technically go hand-in-hand with improved point guard play. Mass Street committed an unsightly 22 turnovers against We Are D3. One could chalk that up to not having a true ball handler, but centers Thomas Robinson and Mitch Lightfoot were responsible for eight of them.

Turnovers are the cardinal sin in basketball, especially when they are by a non-guard. The offense will have to run much more fluently tomorrow afternoon.

It goes without saying that players in their mid-30s will have a tough time taking care of the ball. However, they won’t get away with being careless against a much more talented and physical Mizzou squad.
