No.10: Cheick Diallo (2015-2016)

Kansas basketball career stats: 27 games, 3.0 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 0.9 BPG, 56.9% FG

When you come out of high school widely regarded as a top-five player in your class, it’s fairly easy to underwhelm your expectations. However, Diallo did it in a way that no Kansas basketball one-and-done has before.

Make no mistake — Diallo stepped into Lawrence with tons of potential. Perhaps you could chalk up his disappointing Jayhawk tenure to being stuffed behind Perry Ellis, Landen Lucas, and others on the depth chart. He was never given much of a chance, surpassing 20 minutes in a single game just once.

Diallo was raw on both ends of the floor and never budded into the player scouts thought he could be in college. In fact, not much changed when he made it to the NBA. His free throw shooting struggles and lack of a post game all contributed to his eventual demise at KU.

Like many other highly touted recruits to commit to Kansas, Diallo had issues with academic eligibility. Perhaps that could have explained his poor performance. But in the end, he left campus as the worst one-and-done in Kansas basketball history and still holds that title today.
