Arterio Morris (Texas)

Morris was limited playing time-wise during his freshman season with the Texas Longhorns, as he only played 11.8 minutes per game.

While his stats off the bench weren’t anything spectacular to look at, Morris is still a freakish athlete with a lot of potential on his hands, especially considering he has the opportunity to play with the Jayhawks for three more years.

Morris provides a little bit of everything, as he can attack the basket, lead the fast break, and play lockdown on-ball defense. He also showed off a promising outside jump shot as a freshman at UT.

The former 5-star recruit could blossom into one of the next great Kansas basketball guards. However, a pending trial for a misdemeanor assault charge clouds his future as a Jayhawk. Considering very few schools were interested in him when he entered the portal, there are questions surrounding his character and other off-the-court aspects.

He’ll be in the conversation to crack the starting rotation and will be an electric player to watch in Allen Fieldhouse. An under-the-radar pickup of a player of his caliber would normally be considered a top-notch acquisition, but the uncertainties around him should worry KU fans.
