Jalon Daniels was the star of the evening for Kansas football at the first Big 12 Media Day.

The Kansas Jayhawks football program has fulfilled its need for pizzazz with superstar quarterback Jalon Daniels. Whether it be on or off the field, he has provided Kansas football fans with tons of excitement across the past two seasons.

If there’s one thing Daniels knows how to do, it is getting the attention of those around him — and he did just that in KU’s first Big 12 Media Day appearance on Wednesday.

He showed up at the event in Arlington, Texas sporting a golden sport jacket and a white shirt with a Jayhawks emblem attached. But that wasn’t what caught the eyes of fans. Instead, what really made a mark on the people was what he donned on his neck.

Daniels displayed a golden Cuban link chain wrapped around his shirt collar. Attached to it was an Apple Watch — and not just any Apple Watch, because that’d be too bland for him. See, this Apple Watch, in particular, was custom-made to exhibit a minute-and-a-half video of his own highlights with Kansas football.

If you’re wondering how much it costs, it is certainly worth a pretty penny. Daniels told reporters that he bought it for $50,000 back in his home state of California. At least we know Kansas isn’t cheap with its NIL benefits.

Aside from his exorbitant neckpiece, Daniels also received praise from head coach Lance Leipold in an interview. “I think one thing that we sometimes forget about Jalon in everything he brings to our program is he’s an Academic All-American. And what we put on his plate and what we ask him to do, whether it be just things in our offense to retaining information… I think he does an outstanding job.”

Daniels is making his presence felt prior to what will likely be his final season of college football. It won’t be the last time we see his name in the news for non-football-related reasons.
