Question No. 3, directed to Jalon Daniels:

What extra precautions are you taking this year to stay healthy?

Jalon Daniels has become the face of Kansas football. He’s an electric dual-threat quarterback that was the primary reason for KU’s sensation in the college football world last year.

Talent is not a question for him. He was named Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year, because he’s just that good. The real question is whether he can stay on the field or not. He missed four games in 2022 due to a shoulder injury, which clearly hampered him toward the latter stages of the season.

We wrote up last week about how important it is for the coaching staff to be keeping tabs on him at all times. Durability is key for the soon-to-be senior, and all of the buildup to the 2023 season will be for nothing if Daniels can’t stay healthy. Whatever precautionary measures that Daniels can take, he should take, because keeping him on the gridiron is paramount for the Jayhawks.
