Kansas football unveils new threads for 2023 season
Kansas football released its new threads for the 2023 season, and they are unlike most of the Jayhawks uniforms we have seen in the past.
The Kansas Jayhawks have put together some questionable jersey combinations throughout the years, but they are looking to modernize them with new-look uniforms.
KU revealed a pair of new threads on its Twitter account on Friday evening. They have created a frenzy across social media, and you can see for yourself here:

KU ditched the trademark Trajan font to roll with bold letters spelling out “KANSAS” across the front. They certainly do not look like anything the university has ever put out, and it might signal that we are entering a new era of Kansas football jerseys.
For most of the 2022 season, Kansas rolled out matching uniform color combos or some sort of contrast between jerseys and pants. That’ll also be the case this upcoming year, though it remains to be seen how the university decides to pair them together.

Aside from the font change, Kansas modified the arm sleeve stripes quite a bit. After having a single or no stripe look for several years, there is now a double white and red streak near the shoulder pads. Additionally, the helmet for the blue jersey is bare across the center and does not have a stripe, whereas the white one does. Both jerseys feature a large number in the middle with a red outline.
These are only the base uniforms, so there will still be a variety of different mixtures throughout the season. However, it is a fresh start for the Jayhawks in what could be a new period of success with head coach Lance Leipold.
