Kansas basketball extends offer to 4-star big man Patrick Ngongba
Kansas basketball offered a talented prospect in Patrick Ngongba as the Jayhawks look to land their first Class of 2024 verbal commit.
A top-30 ranked recruit recently received an offer from the Kansas Jayhawks. They have rising interest in 2024 center Patrick Ngongba, and an official visit could be scheduled in the next few months.
The No. 26 player in his class, according to 247 Sports, Ngongba is the top player in Virginia and the third-ranked center. He’s a true five-man with tremendous strength and rebounding abilities. Ngongba has become a terrific shot blocker and improved his game outside the paint as a junior.
Ngongba attends Paul VI Catholic in Virginia, the same area that Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson originated from. He holds offers from other premier programs, such as Duke and UConn.
His father also played college basketball at George Washington. He was a four-year player for the Revolutionaries, but his son is much more highly touted than he was.
Via MaxPreps, he averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 rebounds across his freshman and sophomore years, though his junior year stats could not be found. He will look to continue his success as a senior in hopes to skyrocket the recruiting rankings to a 5-star.
With Dickinson’s potential departure to the NBA following the season and Ernest Udeh Jr.’s transfer, Ngongba could become the center of the future for Kansas basketball.

Kansas is without a commit in the Class of 2024, but they’ve been in contact with several players on the recruiting trail. The only scheduled official visit is for 5-star guard Jalil Bethea, and Ngongba could be the next if head coach Bill Self likes what he sees.
