What could have gone wrong when Kansas hired a national championship-winning head coach? Well, basically everything you can think of.

In addition to his off-the-field scandals, Les Miles was an absolute embarrassment to the University of Kansas. His hiring came out of left field, and both himself and KU could have done without it, as it tarnished his reputation quickly.

Employing Miles was one of Jeff Long’s many blunders as the Athletic Director. Kansas had so much talent under Miles, and he just could not mold them into the stars they should have been. He lacked diversity in his offensive playcalling and struggled with time management.
