Kansas football: College football veteran begins coaching career with Jayhawks
Six-year college football quarterback Noah Vedral just joined the Kansas football coaching staff as an intern a year after the conclusion of his career.
Lance Leipold has made several home run hires since he was appointed the Kansas Jayhawks head coach. He now looks to add another name to his future coaching tree by letting Noah Vedral begin his career with KU.
Vedral was a journeyman across his six-year collegiate career. After spending his freshman season with Big 12 newcomer UCF in 2017, he transferred to former rival Nebraska for the next two seasons. He then reached his final destination in the 2020 COVID-19 campaign, lasting at Rutgers until his eligibility ran out in 2022. Vedral even served as the full-time starter for the Scarlet Knights in 2021.
He totaled 4,094 passing yards and 18 touchdowns in 36 games played at the Division I level. He was also a threat on the ground, rushing for 297 yards as a senior and being used in some specialty plays as a freshman with UCF.

At Kansas, he will take over a volunteer strength intern position with the offensive line. Although it’s not the most significant role, Vedral will need to work his way from the ground up.
He spoke with Scarlet Nation regarding the next chapter of his life:
"“I have accepted an entry-level position at Kansas football. It is a strength intern position with the offensive line. I will be doing a combination, kind of a little bit of the strength and a little bit of the football. That’s kind of the plan going forward. And then, hopefully, in the spring, I will take over a graduate assistant role with the offensive line, which is what [head] coach [Lance] Leipold end coach [Andy] Kotelnicki talked about.”"
It is a potentially big hire for the coaching staff, and we could see Vedral promoted to a higher position within the next few years if he sticks with the program.
