Kansas football has prioritized Class of 2024 wide receiver Nick Marsh in June, but the wideout is strongly trending toward Michigan State.

The Kansas Jayhawks have been heavily recruiting top-100 high school recruit Nick Marsh during the offseason. If he were to commit, he’d be KU’s most highly touted prospect since recruiting rankings began. However, recent forecasts put in by Rivals analysts should concern Jayhawks fans.

Marsh just concluded his official visit to Michigan State over the weekend. He was committed to the Spartans for more than seven months as a sophomore but decommitted in hopes to find a more favorable situation. Now, it seems he has circled back to his original choice.

The No. 54 player in his class on the Rivals250, Marsh is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound receiver who’s been praised for his jump ball catching and strength on the outside. He has NFL potential if he continues to perform at a high level in college.

Rivals forecasts are not always the most accurate tool, but the two publishers who put Marsh in favor of Michigan had previously anticipated him to attend Penn State. That includes Dylan Callaghan-Croley, a beat reporter for the Nittany Lions.

The last-minute change suggests something changed over the past few days while Marsh was on MSU’s campus. After all, the most important official visit is usually the final one the recruit takes.

Kansas football was never considered the leading suitor for him, but rather as a sleeper. Battling Big Ten recruiting powerhouses was never going to be a light task for Lance Leipold’s coaching staff. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Michigan State Spartans will likely land Nick Marsh on July 7.
