DE Deshawn Warner — No. 669 ranked player, No. 45 ranked defensive end

Commitment Date: July 1

Warner is the most realistic target for Kansas. His high school teammate (Jonathan Kamara) and blood cousin (Aundre Gibson) are both committed to Kansas. For what it’s worth, Michael Swain put in a crystal ball for Warner to Kansas — albeit with a confidence level of 2.

Although he’s more coveted than those two, Kansas is without a true defensive end commit, and he would immediately bolster the outlook of this year’s class. He has tons of power for his size and is extremely explosive off the edge.

The other schools Warner is considering are Texas, Washington, and Oregon State. He has been flirting with UW on Twitter and has connections to players there, which could be an issue. But I believe he’ll choose to play with his family under a coaching staff that has prioritized him for several months.

Prediction — Kansas
