Former Kansas football head coach Les Miles had a disastrous coaching tenure with the Jayhawks, and he continues to run into more trouble.

After compiling a 3-18 record over two seasons and being fired due to sexual misconduct allegations, it’s safe to say Les Miles could have done without the Kansas Jayhawks coaching job. His two-year stint at KU is part of the reason why he is no longer eligible for the College Football Hall of Fame.

The Tigers football program is vacating all 37 wins from the 2012-2015 period because offensive lineman Vadal Alexander was ineligible during his entire collegiate career. LSU is also being stripped of their Outback and Texas Bowl victories.

Alexander was deemed ineligible because LSU’s former assistant athletic director of operations provided his family with over $180,000 in improper benefits.

For a head coach to qualify for the CFB Hall of Fame, they must maintain a winning percentage of .600 or better. Miles sat at 66.5 percent for his career, but the recent news drops him down to 59.6 percent. If he wants to become eligible again, he’d have to take another head coaching job to bring him over the 60 percent plateau.

It certainly didn’t help that he coached at Kansas during 2019 and 2020. The Jayhawks were absolutely terrible during his time at the university, and regardless, he might have rid himself of a Hall of Fame spot with the withstanding allegations at LSU.

Kansas football fans do not have fond memories of Miles, and his coverage in the media during the past few years only further prove how important it is to have a great head coach like Lance Leipold under the helm.
