Mason Fairchild

Although he was just the third leading receiver for the Jayhawks, Fairchild was Mr. Reliable for whichever quarterback was under center. He was just 15 yards shy of being in the top-15 in terms of tight end receiving yards and had the same yards per reception as 2023 first-round pick Dalton Kincaid. He doesn’t get the spotlight that the elite tight ends get (not that he should necessarily be quite that high), but he is a much better player than his numbers indicate. He is one part of a very solid group of pass catchers for KU.

Luke Hosford

I’ll be honest, I don’t have a lot to say about Hosford. I don’t spend a lot of time watching long snappers, which I’m sure can be said about 99.9 percent of football fans. However, I can say that having a reliable long snapper who can put the ball where it needs to be for both punts and place kicks is a wildly underrated asset. Seeing as how Hosford got third-team honors from Phil Steele, I would say KU has a reliable piece of their special teams unit locked down.
